Ride em, you urban brokeback cowboy

If you were shocked and dismayed at the previous photo of Geoff in chaps, this one might help you realise it was just part of an emerging theme in his life.
Some of you may remember Geoff getting stuck on the bottom of a ruck (against Shore I think) and an ensuing semi-romantic encounter with an examining doctor. Seems that had more of an impact on his sexuality than any of us realised...

There had to be a Bucks party photo, didn't there?

Geoff Webster was recently married and is currently honeymooning in the Cook Islands. Apparently the Bucks Party was pretty special and here is a shot of Geoff in his signature chaps and white jocks looking pretty disoriented. Love the old guy in the background checking out Geoff's form.

Tony's funeral

Just a short note to update you on Tony Robinson's funeral today. It was very moving, not a dry eye in the house as they say. Tony lived such a rich and varied life, and was loved by so many people. the stories of his humour, kindness and generous spirit abounded. It was great to see how many NSBHS relationships he had rekindled in recent years - Ben Teh, Pete Llewelyn-Smith, Roger Faulkner, Dan Dasey all spoke of great time with Tony in recent years. It was also important to hear about the dangerous reality of mental illness, and how hard Tony fought against its grip over the last 10 years and more.
RIP Tony.
Would love to have some others who were there post their responses.

Tony Robinson has sadly passed away

Friends,

There is some very sad news to report. Over the weekend we have lost a brother, Tony Robinson (we knew him as Anthony at school) . Tony struggled with mental illness for many years, and for the past few years has been helped enormously by his step-sister Mandy. Mandy is happy for us to let you know of his passing, and is adamant that Tony would want no secrecy about his death and to say that he took his own life because of battle with his mental illness. Such a sad loss of a genuine, kind bloke.

Tony's funeral service will be held next Tuesday 10 Ocotober 2006.
These details will apparently be posted in the Notices section of this Thursday's SMH but the outline of the service next is as follows:
12pm - Service at All Souls Church in Leichhardt
http://www.allsouls.net.au/About%20Us3.htm
Afterwards - the burial at Macqaurie Park Cemetry in Ryde

All are welcome - please let Ben Teh know at ben_g_teh@yahoo.com.au if you will be coming so he can help Mandy with the numbers.
